Working Towards Balance
There is growing consensus that corporate and market values now shape Irish society.
Economic growth is synonymous with progress. But economic activity represents only one facet of human existence. Its values are not the only values that prevail in society. As we begin a new millennium, our society must be challenged to wonder what direction it is taking. There is an obvious need to ensure that the agenda of the corporate world and the welfare of local communities can co-exist in a meaningful relationship.
These are the concerns that were addressed at the 'Working Towards Balance' conference.
