'Imagining The Future'
Imagining the Future is a collection of papers from the seventh annual Céifin held in Ennis, Co. Clare. Ireland, as a society is in a unique position at present. Over the last ten years our standard of living has increased, while at the same time our belief in state and religious institutions has dwindled. However, the issue of how to relate to one another and to the wider world is only beginning to be explored.
In a wide-ranging and topical series of essays some of the more salient features of our society are critiqued and suggestions outlined for a more attractive future. Topics include Imagining the Future for our Young People, for Education, for Business, and above all for our Individual Spirituality, which tends to be neglected in favour of the material success vaunted by the champions of the Celtic Tiger. For anyone who strives for a better future, one in which self-worth takes premium over worldsly gain, Imagining the Future is essential reading.
